The Selection Committee of the Caribbean Development for The Arts, Sports and Culture Foundation in association with the Caribbean Community, is pleased to inform you that you have been selected in the Visual Arts Category as an inductee for the Caribbean Hall of Fame 2012. You are invited to attend the 11th Annual Caribbean Hall of Fame ceremony to be held on Friday November 23, 2012 commencing at 6:30 p.m at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel, 77 Knutsford Boulevard, Kingston 5.
The Foundation's main aim is to recognize individualss such as you, who have contributed significantly to the development of Arts, Sport and Culture in the Caribbean and to encourage the natural genius of our people to reach the highest level. Great news from Webist John Powell!

I was invited to give a lecture on "art and the computer the future";
At a highend High School Careers' Day ,Tuesday,
April 22,2008/9:a.m.Theme:"Your Career,Your Choice,Your Future." I was
ask about "Webism" ,what and who is a Webist? I am looking at aspects
of technology,how it affects the art world and how the computer is
being used as a tool/Canvas/Medium
of expression in todays art;
I am informing you that I am going to use the "Webists Group for my
presentation;I ll be setting up the internet in the room slated for this
lecture, which i'll be clicking on every Webists site;I also going to
show the CD/DVD of the show in France,you remember that CD/DVD?I am
putting Webism history together,who
started it & how/where/Py and Ingrid; I bought my Macbook the right
time to travel & I have a 50x50 slides projector screen to use power point
too;I received invitation letter yesterday & was discussing the
traveling "Climate Change-The Impact"show with the schools'
director/organizer of the expo and i'll be blowing up the posters & invitations to
bring/display;

Ongoing "Climate Change - the impact" show efforts and news...
Big news on November 10th, 2007:
Webist Kenneth-Edward Swinscoe gets free space for the climate change show at Ministry of Environment, Mainz, Germany!!!! So the European real life "Climate Change - the impact" international traveling artshow can come to life!
A big THANK YOU to our active Webist Mike Butler from Toronto, Canada who is trying to find a show place in Toronto after show end at Toronto ACA gallery Mid December 2007.
A big THANK YOU to our active Webist John Powell from Mandeville, Jamaica who sent this fantastic news on Nov 6th, 2007:
"...My art department at The government school where I teach, we have given a major art project on all artists who are in the "Climate Change-The Impact", as a part of the END of TERM EXAMs; The invitation & Poster are being posted up on the school's bulleting board & in My Art department; I was asked to submit copies of the invitation & poster to some top schools in the county & talk about the touring exhibition soon, date not yet decided in November,as I am informing the WEBISTS; Regards John Powell"
