Webism - Art Connecting the World

Webist is one who uses the digital medium to create his or her art. The Webist artist displays in online cyberspace. Some digital artists don't place artwork online. So I reserve "cyberartist" for digital artist that maintain artwork on the Internet. Webists can be digital/cyberartist but some others use scanned works of traditional media, such as watercolor and oils, to post imagery online. So not all Webists have to be digital artists. So the art medium isn't the crucial identifier, although most Webists are digital artists. An artist is a Webist if he or she agrees to the group's manifesto. Yes, we are Pacifists and promote the good and harmony of man through exposing our work with the intent to building a global culture by international artists in agreement of the cause (manifesto).

Greetings my fellow Webists.Once again I find myself trying to communicate via the internet through yet another wonderful project instigated by Inrid and Pygoya.I joined this group months ago and I have to say this time around that there are so few of you who have welcomed me into the webism group quite like Py, Ingrid,Dan and Olga that I am somewhat disenchanted with the whole idea of the group.I have invited all of you to take part in various online projects as well as a webist only project and next to no one has responded.I have to tell you all that, for a group that is supposed to be about 'art connecting the world',I have yet to really feel any connection other than to the above mentioned, and a couple others,so,I am considering leaving the group. If I don't hear from somebody about this then I guess I will have my answer as to what this group wants from me.And that will be nothing.

Dear Jim,

The wind is blowing... from what direction ever...

This group developed wonderfully over the years. Many of us have grown together as a big family. We did and do great projects together on- and offline as everybody can easily find out from our website. Right now I'm working in close contact with Gerhard for our real life Webism Wasserburg show with 24 Webist artists from around the globe aboard. Too bad you're not with us in this project.

Although we work in close contact with each other we are all individual artists. And in this group there is no "must". This makes us strong. One can join a project or not. One can set up a project or not. There's nothing to complain about.

You are only a member of our group for a short time. You cannot expect anybody to run to you with open arms. Human beings need some time to get closer to each other.

Hugs,

Ingrid
